Day eight - TGIF

Can you use bridge in class? Yes you can

Today is Friday and our first full week of studying come to the end.

In terms of classes today is very similar what we had yesterday, except for this fancy class 'First Year Experience'. This one we have only once a week. All others we have had today again - Math, Product knowledge and Food and Safety.

What I learned today?
A little bit here and there. First is Math, I learned how to easily convert one unit to another without doing straightforward calculations. It is called 'bridge method'. The main idea is that you may move from one measurement to another using fractions. The goal here is to come to the measurement required using as many conversion as needed.

Product knowledge was about fruits and vegetables, stages of their life, ripening. We were tough that some fruits (apples for examples) emit ethylene gas in relatively large quantity, which can help to ripen some fruits. Right now we are trying to experiment with that knowledge. We took two bananas not ripen yet, but close to this stage, put them in the bag with two apples and placed this bag in the dark place. Tomorrow they should be perfect (will let you know on Monday result).

Food safety was about food and safety. Lecture was about different bacteria and viruses. Nothing remarkable, only practical useful information we suppose to know.

Then was lunch and at lunch there was a real challenge for me. The table with desserts was remarkable. I wanted everything. And there were around 15 different desserts - cheesecake, mini Pavlova, meringue  tartlets with cream and fruits on top, pot de creme, pot de chocolate and so on. Sometimes I wish to be able to eat and not worry about weight...
